Where can I find equipment wattage?

Why does a variable-speed pump need a measured value?

Its power draw changes substantially with speed and system resistance. A single maximum-watt figure can overstate normal use.

Does the calculator include gas heater cost?

No. Gas cost requires fuel input, heater efficiency and the local price per therm or other fuel unit.

Can I use motor horsepower to estimate watts?

Horsepower alone is not a dependable electrical input because motor and drive efficiency vary. Use electrical watts or measured kW.

Does a heat pump draw its rated heating output in electricity?

No. Heating output and electrical input are different. Use the unit’s electrical input or measured power, not its delivered BTU rating.

How can I compare pump speeds?

Run the calculator with the measured watts and runtime for each speed schedule, while confirming both schedules provide adequate circulation and skimming.

Why is my utility bill higher than the estimate?
