Why does a pool cover affect heater sizing?

Evaporation is a major source of heat loss. A cover can reduce overnight loss and may shorten recovery time, but actual results depend on weather and cover use.

Does the calculator include heater efficiency?

Yes, the planning formula can account for an entered efficiency value. Use the manufacturer-rated efficiency or coefficient information appropriate to the heater type.

Can a heat pump be sized with the same BTU formula?
